Our new ExactShift chassis mounted short shifter for the '65-'86 Porsche 911 ushers in a whole new level of performance for your 901/915/930 gearbox. The OEM shifter lacks adjustability and precision and certainly leaves room on the table for improvement. Our shifter solves these design flaws to allow fine tuning to your specific driving style, both on and/or off the track. All of this wrapped up in an eye catching and aesthetically pleasing design with the level of quality, engineering, and manufacturing you have come to expect from Rennline.
Constructed from CNC machined aircraft grade billet aluminum
4 positions of shift lever adjustment for quick and precise shifts
Extended shift lever positioning shift knob closer to steering wheel for ultimate control
Lateral movement of shift lever in neutral position adjustable
Return-to-center shift lever action
Included rubber bellows to seal shifter opening and lever for an OEM+ look
Reverse lockout via internally routed cable
Mounts directly to transmission tunnel using supplied hardware
Retains OEM shift coupler and other components for a bolt-in installation
Available in Black or Silver anodized finish
Aluminum shift knob included (compatible with all current Rennline shift knobs)
Shifter lever is also threaded with an M12x1.5 thread pitch expanding your shift knob options
**For Transmission Code 901: The reverse lock out function of this shifter shifter will not work due the dogleg shift pattern.
**For Transmission Code 930: The 930 Transmission has a built in reverse lock out and our units lock out will need to be removed before installation**
I recently purchased this upgraded shifter for my Porsche 911, and I’m truly impressed by the build quality. The part is CNC-machined from aluminum with outstanding precision, and it feels excellent in hand.
Designed to fix the common shifting issues found in original Porsche shifters, it appears to be a well-thought-out improvement. Since my car is currently under restoration, I haven’t installed it yet, so I can’t comment on its performance in real-world conditions. However, the craftsmanship and design are undeniably top-notch.
I’ll update my review once it’s installed, but so far, it’s a flawless piece in terms of finish and engineering!

Exact short shifter for the 911 3.2

Beautifully made shifter with good installation instructions. It does transform the 915’s shifting performance, tighter, much shorter and more precise. It’s the 915 transmission so it’s not a fast shift. Deliberate and thoughtful, and this short shifter, for all of its improvements, doesn’t change some of the shortcomings of the 915 (especially mine, as I am getting closer to a rebuild). Finally, take your time on the install and adjustments. Coupler, reverse lockout, carrier bushing, you name it. Sweat the details as it really helps.
